Iredell Health System has announced that Dr. Rachel Rader, DPM, has joined the Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center. Dr. Rader selected this position due to the health system's strong community reputation.
"This well-respected and established organization will give me access to opportunities and experiences, which will help me continue my passion for caring for others and allow me to make a meaningful impact on my community," said Rader.
Dr. Rader holds a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida. Her residency training was completed at Cedars Medical Center and South Shore Hospital in Miami, Florida. She is associated with Healogics wound care experts as a panel physician and is a member of both the American Podiatric Medical Association and the North Carolina Foot & Ankle Society. With 25 years of experience in wound care, she has conducted research presented at the Symposium for Advanced Wound Healing and spoken at the North Carolina Foot & Ankle Society Winter Scientific Seminar.
"I chose wound care because it aligns with my passion for using evidence-based medicine," explained Rader. "The growth in the field of wound care over the years has been exciting to witness."
Dr. Rader aims to have a lasting effect on her patients' wellbeing by addressing their concerns directly.
"Diagnosing rare conditions and providing comprehensive care is my mission as a wound care specialist," she stated.
Active in her community, Dr. Rader volunteers at Feed NC, Miss NC Scholarship Organization, Fifth Street Ministries, and serves on the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce’s Leading Ladies committee. She also teaches life skills monthly at Statesville Montessori School.
Married to Dr. Dale Rader, an orthopedic surgeon in Statesville, they have resided there for 18 years with their three children. In her spare time, she enjoys medical research focused on diabetic limb salvage, travel, interior design, and event planning.
"Patients can expect a warm welcome from a compassionate doctor that’s willing to listen," noted Rader about her approach to patient care.
She advises everyone to regularly inspect their feet for any issues such as cuts or swelling and recommends against going barefoot if diabetic.
Dr. Rader is now accepting referrals at Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center located at 1714 Davie Ave., Statesville, NC.
