Iredell Health System is making mammograms more accessible with its new initiative, Mammo Mondays, at Iredell Imaging in Mooresville. This program offers same-day and walk-in appointments every Monday, simplifying the process for women who find it challenging to schedule and keep these essential screenings.

Appointments are available from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the last walk-in accepted at 4:00 p.m. Regular appointments continue throughout the week from Monday to Friday. The service is aimed at women aged 40 and above, offering screening mammograms on a first-come, first-served basis without needing a referral.

The cost of a self-pay mammogram is $175, but insurance is accepted and financial assistance can be sought through the Iredell Health Foundation.

The facility boasts advanced technology with its Senographe Pristina Mammography System. This system enhances breast cancer detection accuracy while reducing patient anxiety by offering a more comfortable experience. It also decreases the likelihood of needing follow-up imaging and improves detection in dense breast tissue.

Women are encouraged to have annual mammograms after age 40 for early breast cancer detection, which can be life-saving. It is advised to consult healthcare providers regarding specific breast health concerns.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, individuals can visit Iredell Imaging at Mooresville located at 635 Bluefield Rd., Mooresville, NC or call them at 704-360-6650.
