Iredell Health System has appointed Georgia Marie Hayworth as the new Director of Respiratory Therapy. Hayworth, who holds credentials as an RRT, RCP, and BBA, brings over 15 years of experience in respiratory therapy, having served in both supervisory and directorial roles.
Hayworth obtained her degree in respiratory therapy from Catawba Valley Community College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Strayer University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management. In her previous role, she played a key part in setting up a pulmonary function lab by working with local pulmonary care offices in a rural area.
Expressing enthusiasm about her new position, Hayworth stated, “I am most excited about my new role for the opportunities I can bring to the department.” She aims to elevate respiratory therapy at Iredell Health System and increase autonomy for its therapists.
Her decision to join Iredell was influenced by the community-focused atmosphere of the hospital. “I chose Iredell because of the hospital’s ability to give back to the community. Everyone is kind and the smiles resonate when employees pass each other in the halls,” she said.
Larry Pizzorni, Assistant Vice President of Ancillary & Support Services at Iredell Health System, expressed confidence in Hayworth’s capabilities. “Marie has consistently demonstrated exceptional expertise in respiratory therapy and a passion for driving quality improvements. Her vision for enhancing patient outcomes and fostering a supportive environment for staff aligns perfectly with our mission and values.”
Hayworth aims to contribute to maintaining Iredell's strong community reputation. “Being able to accomplish my dreams and aspirations is near and dear to my heart. I plan to grow with my team and continue to make Iredell the best place for healing.”
