Iredell County Health Department issued the following announcement on Mar. 28.
Are you ready for National Public Health Week?
During the first full week in April, National Public Health Week encourages people to become a part of a growing movement to create a healthy nation. The observance recognizes the contributions of public health and highlights issues that are important to improving the health of the nation.
Public health is an integral part of a community or neighborhood. It’s also a part of our greater world. Public health identifies areas of need, promotes health practices, and supports healthy lifestyles. The week focuses on prevention and reducing unhealthy activities. Communities across the country publicize events to help create healthy and fair public health policies.
