TOWN OF DAVIDSON: Supports “Small Business Saturday” on Saturday, November 26

Town of Davidson issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.

The Town of Davidson is pleased to announce its support for “Small Business Saturday” on Saturday, November 26. We encourage Davidson citizens and visitors to kick off the holiday shopping season by buying locally in all our retail establishments. Many Davidson businesses will be offering specials and additional services on this day.

“Supporting local businesses is important,” said Economic Development Manager Kim Fleming. “So many Davidson businesses support the community by hiring local workers, donating to our non-profit organizations, and sponsoring events. Let’s return the favor and support them on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday shopping season.”

Davidson’s core values state that “Davidson’s economic health is essential to its remaining a sustainable community, so town government will judiciously encourage new business opportunities.” The town’s economic development department focuses on business retention, and these events will familiarize participants with our local businesses in time for the holiday shopping season.

American Express launched Small Business Saturday in 2010 in an effort to support local places that make our communities strong. Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.
