County of Iredel Public Library issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

Shepherd Shakespeare Company Presents: 'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Statesville: December 22nd at 11:00 am

Troutman: December 22nd at 1:30 pm

Harmony: December 22nd at 4:00 pm

Join us for a free, family-friendly performance by local theatre company Shepherd Shakespeare! No registration is required for this program.

Shakespeare didn’t write any Christmas stories, so we turn to a different beloved classic. Author Clement Clarke Moore has writer’s block as he tries to pen a poem about the wonder of Christmas Eve. Frustratingly funny trials and errors lead him to acting out his ideas. With the help of puppets, found objects, and friends from the audience, watch the magic of this cherished classic unfold.
