CITY OF STATESVILLE: 5 Minutes to Complete a Needs Assessment Survey About Food

City of Statesville issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.

Calling all citizens of Statesville!  We need your help!

Will you take 5 minutes to complete a needs assessment survey about food?

Through a partnership with the US Attorney’s Office and the University of Greensboro research team, the City of Statesville has ventured into a Community Needs Assessment process to learn about the main concerns of our community.  We have been incorporating input from residents, community-based organizations and resource providers, law enforcement personnel serving the area, school personnel, and community leaders.

Phase 1 of the assessment process included focus groups comprised of those working, living, and volunteering in the Statesville community.  Through discussions and information collected, the following five areas of concern were determined:

• Food Access/Insecurity

• Housing

• Transportation

• Programs/Activities for Youth

• Safety

We are now moving into Phase 2 and need help from our citizens. The city will be conducting survey questionnaires in order to gain more information on each of the five areas. This information is pertinent to drive decisions, engagement opportunities, and development. The first survey is focused on the area of “Food,” and we need community input!

Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and encourage those you know, work with, and serve to complete as well. It is open to every citizen of Statesville and will assist in creating opportunities to improve the quality of life for all.
