TOWN OF MOORESVILLE: 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan

Plan

Town of Mooresville issued the following announcement on Jan. 25.

The Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) welcomes the public to comment on its draft of the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), revised 2020-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), 2045 MTP amendments, and draft Air Quality Conformity Determination Report. The comment period will close on Thursday, February 17.

CRTPO is the federally designated metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the Charlotte urbanized area (including Mooresville). The documents are posted on CRTPO’s 2050 MTP website, https://2050mtp.org/home/getinvolved/ and comments should be sent to Judy Dellert-O’Keef and include “2050 MTP” in the subject line. O’Keef can be reached using the online comment form (https://2050mtp.org/comment/), by email (jdellert-okeef@charlottenc.gov or email@crtpo.org) and by mail at CRTPO, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 E. Fourth St., 8th floor, Charlotte, NC 28202. Written or verbal comments on the MTP can also be provided during the January 26, February 16, and March 16 CRTPO Board Meetings. Visit the CRTPO webpage for more information.

The MTP defines the policies, programs and projects to be implemented during the next 20 years in order to provide mobility choices to residents in the CRTPO’s planning area. The MTP contains recommendations for all modes of surface transportation, including streets and roads, transit, bicycling, and pedestrian facilities. The MTP also contains descriptions and assessments of conditions affecting the surface transportation of persons and/or the movement of freight in the CRTPO’s planning area. The air quality conformity determination report demonstrates that the total emissions projected for the MTP are within the emissions limits established by the State Implementation Plan (SIP) for air quality.

CRTPO is scheduled to act on the MTP, TIP, and air quality conformity determination report on March 16.
