The North Carolina Department of Transportation will make changes to Talbert and Oates roads in Mooresville beginning Tuesday, Oct. 27.
The Transportation Department will convert the crossroads into an all-way stop to help with traffic, the Iredell Free News reported on Oct. 12. It is currently just a two-way stop. The eventual changes are meant to reduce the high-crash rate at the intersection.
"I take this moment to give praise to DOT Division 12's response for helping address our community's concerns," Sen. Vickie Sawyer (R-Iredell) said in an Oct. 13 Facebook post.
There will be temporary message boards placed in the area to inform drivers of the upcoming changes to the traffic pattern, and while the new signs are installed, all lanes of traffic will remain open, the Iredell Free News reported.
"In no way can every complaint be immediately handled, but I am grateful for help on those projects and DOT's cooperation with our local government," Sawyer said in her Facebook post.
