North Carolina Republican Party's named Philip Thomas as its new political director, State Party Chairman Michael Whatley said in a statement in March.
"I am extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to work with the Party and our conservative leaders across the state,” Thomas said in the statement. “We are in the midst of one of the most crucial elections in recent history, so we need all hands on deck. To that end, I look forward to working with the NCGOP's exceptionally talented staff and under the strong leadership of Chairman Whatley."
Thomas has experience government and is the former deputy general counsel for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. He is a Guilford County native and a graduate of UNC Charlotte and the Campbell University School of Law.
