Town of Apex issued the following announcement on Mar. 17.
Water Flushing Causing Low Pressure
During the month of March, customers may experience low water pressure or no water for short periods of time while the town’s entire water distribution system will be flushed by the Water Resources Operations Division. Some hydrant flushing activity may be performed at night. Crews will make every effort to avoid disturbing curbside yard waste and trash carts.
This work is done during the Cary/Apex Water Treatment Plant’s annual switch from chloramine disinfection to free chlorine disinfection. The Town conducts this process in conjunction with other communities in the area, as mandated by State and Federal regulatory agencies.
