Iredell Memorial Hospital has been recognized among the top 25 hospitals in North Carolina, as ranked by Business North Carolina. The rankings evaluate hospitals based on over 25 healthcare metrics, with significant data sourced from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Additional inputs include evaluations from The LeapFrog Group, which honored Iredell Memorial as a top hospital for 2024, recognitions from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina, and U.S. News & World Report ratings. Metrics such as infection rates, mortality rates, readmissions, and patient satisfaction surveys also play a role in determining the rankings.

The methodologies employed by Business North Carolina often highlight larger health systems, yet Iredell Health System’s inclusion underscores its commitment to high-quality care, despite being smaller compared to other contenders on the list.

Furthermore, Iredell Memorial Hospital has been designated a Blue Distinction Center by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, recognizing its excellence in knee and hip replacement surgery, as well as maternity care. This acknowledgment reflects assessments from the medical community and patient safety data.

John Green, President & CEO of Iredell Health System, expressed pride in the ranking. “We are so proud to see our most recent ranking from Business North Carolina,” he remarked. “As an independent health system, we rely on external ratings to ensure that we are providing the quality services. These results certainly show that we are on the right track and will continue to strive to attain these results to provide great local care for our community.”

Iredell Health System has served its community by providing necessary care locally for over 70 years.
