Iredell Health System has named two new members to its Board of Directors and five new members to its Board of Trustees, furthering its tradition of community involvement.

The Board of Directors, which oversees the health system and is elected by a larger Board of Trustees, now includes Vivek Trivedi, MD, from Piedmont HealthCare Comprehensive Digestive Care Center, and Melinda Childress, PharmD, from Banner Drug.

“I am honored and privileged to join the Board of Directors,” said Trivedi. “I know my medical knowledge will be instrumental for facility expansion and new equipment investments. As a physician, I see Iredell Memorial as one of the best hospitals because of the compassionate care that patients receive and leadership’s focus on the community. The secret of patient care is caring for the patient, and I see that from everyone who works at Iredell.”

“It is a privilege to serve on this Board,” shared Childress. “As a pharmacist and local business owner, I value the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare in our community. I’m excited to collaborate with health system leadership and fellow board members to help guide continued growth, innovation and service to the patients and families who depend on it.”

Two outgoing board members have completed their terms: Ray Georgeson, MD (Piedmont HealthCare Cardiology), and Jamye deBot (deBotech, Inc.).

The 2026 Board of Directors includes Robert Aryeetey, MD; Melinda Childress; Jan Comer (Secretary); H. Mike Cook (Treasurer); Chuck Dockery (Vice Chairman); Kevin Donaldson; Bob Gates; Angela Jones Graham; David Green (Chair); Xochitl Koppelmeyer; Jennifer Marion Mills; Tom Onsrud; Vivek Trivedi, MD; Brent Warren, MD; and Anthony Williams.

The Board of Trustees also plays an important role in governance by ensuring policies are followed while supporting organizational development. This group consists of over 170 citizens from different parts of Iredell County who provide feedback on improving health services.

Five new trustees were appointed during January: David Bullins (Mitchell Community College), Rogelio Calvo (Artist/Mitchell Community College), Travis Eason, MD (Piedmont HealthCare Bone & Joint), Aaron Simmons (Broad Street United Methodist Church), and Jips Zachariah, MD (Piedmont HealthCare Cardiovascular Specialists).

“It’s incredible to have such a talented group of individuals devoted to the wellbeing of our community,” said David Green, Board Chair. “They all share the same goal of keeping comprehensive healthcare local and building upon Iredell Health’s longstanding reputation of excellence.”
