Iredell County Emergency Communications and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office have introduced RapidSOS 911 Live Video, a new tool designed to improve emergency response. The technology enables 911 callers to transmit live video directly to dispatchers and responders, giving them a clearer understanding of situations as they unfold.
Callers who choose to participate receive a secure link that activates live streaming from their device. This allows emergency personnel to see events in real time before arriving at the scene, which can help with faster and more accurate assessments.
Sheriff Darren Campbell stated, “This is a major step forward in how we serve and protect our community. Having access to live video before deputies arrive gives us the advantage of seeing the situation firsthand, which can ultimately save time and lives.”
Candy Miller, Emergency Communications Director, said, “We are proud to implement this state-of-the-art solution to better serve the residents of Iredell County. Empowering our dispatchers and responders with live video means faster, safer, and more effective emergency responses.”
The launch of RapidSOS 911 Live Video reflects ongoing efforts by Iredell County officials to use new technology for public safety improvements.
