Due to a widespread Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage affecting the northeastern United States, Iredell County is currently experiencing intermittent issues with EnerGov, its online permitting system. The county reported that while internal systems remain fully operational, some public-facing services may be temporarily unavailable or slow to respond.
The outage has impacted municipalities and businesses nationwide that rely on cloud-based systems, including Tyler Technologies, which hosts the county’s online permitting portal. As of now, many services — including the Central Permitting Self-Service Portal — have been restored, but intermittent disruptions may continue until AWS fully resolves the issue.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as these external systems are brought back to normal operation,” stated the county in its announcement.
Meanwhile, data from the 2022-23 school year shows that in Iredell County school districts, 27% of senior students and 28.8% of junior students who took the science portion of the ACT were considered ready for college.
