City of Statesville issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
While working to replace a drainage pipe on Meeting Street, a contractor accidentally hit a waterline corporation, the brass valve that connects service to the main line.
Steven Chapman with the City’s Water/Sewer Maintenance Division jumped into action and had the situation under control in less than 20 minutes!
His quick response kept the water on and there were no service disruptions for our residents!
