City of Statesville issued the following announcement on Apr. 5.
SVL City offices will be closed Friday, April 15, in recognition of the Good Friday Holiday. There are no changes in the garbage schedule for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday and Friday’s routes will run on Thursday.

In the early hours of March 5, 2026, a deputy from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a suspect during an attempted theft at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Harmony, North Carolina.
The North Carolina State Board of Elections has announced that primary election results will not be released statewide until 8:30 p.m. This delay follows the extension of voting hours at one precinct in Halifax County.
