Amy Kilpatrick, DNP, PMHNP-BC, has joined Iredell Psychiatry as part of the Iredell Physician Network within the Iredell Health System. Kilpatrick brings over 13 years of healthcare experience and previously worked as Case Management Coordinator at Iredell Davis Behavioral Health Hospital.

Kilpatrick holds an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Rowan Cabarrus Community College and both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Gardner Webb University. She is board-certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Her professional memberships include the American Nurses Association, North Carolina Nurses Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and National Association of Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse Practitioners – USA. In October 2025, she received recognition as a Guardian Angel recipient through the Iredell Health Foundation for her care and compassion.

“I have an individualized approach to patient care, meeting patients where they are to provide care from a holistic perspective,” said Kilpatrick. “I believe in providing compassionate, evidence-based practice care and support for those individuals navigating mental health challenges and crises.”

She described her commitment to advocating for increased awareness about mental health issues and reducing stigma around mental illness.

“Patients can expect me to treat them as I would my own family members — with dignity and respect. I believe in building a rapport with my patients to gain knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses and establish treatment goals to help them achieve healthier versions of themselves.”

Outside her professional role, Kilpatrick spends time with her husband of more than 30 years, four children, and four grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, knitting, working on DIY projects, and relaxing at the beach.

“Self-care is important to maintain optimal mental health, so always take time for yourself to relax and rejuvenate.”

Kilpatrick is currently accepting new patients aged eight or older at Iredell Psychiatry. More information can be found at Iredellpsychiatry.com.
